New Gals
Add blooms to your early spring garden with a new evergreen shrub introduction featuring colorful orchid-like blooms. Polygala ‘Kaminski’ is a new introduction featured today at Squak Mt. with boxwood like foliage reaching 10” tall, and spreading slowly to 24” wide. Purple and yellow blooms emerge in February and feature a pleasant fragrance. Her partner is Polygala ‘Rhodoptera’. This variety’s blossoms are pinky-purple and the plant features smaller leaves and a very prostrate habit.
Both Polygalas are hardy to about 0 degrees and desire good drainage to thrive. Place them in full sun or lightly shaded locations where they can be noticed. Containers, the front of a bed along the walk or a rock garden all allow Polygalas to shine despite their diminutive nature. Come meet the new “Gals” at Squak Mt. today.
