Small Leaves, Big Impact!

Let’s take a moment to talk about the Rhaphidophora tetrasperma, a vining houseplant that has earned the moniker “Mini Monstera.” While it does mimic the deep green, decoratively lobed leaves of Monstera deliciosa, that is where the similarities end. Hailing from the tropical rain forests of Thailand and Malaysia, the Rhaphidophora tetrasperma is an easy-going plant that likes to trail and climb along at its own pace. While it thrives in bright, indirect light indoors, it can also tolerate medium light situations, making it flexible for placement in your home.

Another perk to the “Mini Monstera” is its size. The smaller leaves and moderate growth lends itself well to smaller spaces and apartments. Its leaves also produce the sought-after fenestrations earlier in life, so you get the beautiful leaf shape without the size and unruliness of a classic Monstera.

For a unique display piece, consider mounting the ‘Mini Monstera’ to a trellis or winding plant stake. It loves to climb and will anchor itself using aerial roots, following along the shape of what you mount it on. We have our favorite moss poles and trellis’ fully stocked.
