New! Scabiosa ‘Vivid Violet’ and ‘Giga Blue’

Add a burst of rich color and pollinator-friendly charm to your garden with Scabiosa. This compact, easy-care perennial is prized for its vivid blooms and exceptionally long flowering season, making it a must-have for sunny borders and containers.

Scabiosa produces an abundance of pincushion-style flowers that stand out beautifully against its tidy mound of gray-green foliage. Blooming from late spring well into fall, it offers continuous color when many other perennials begin to fade. Bees and butterflies are drawn to the nectar-rich flowers, making it an excellent choice for pollinator gardens. It also makes a lovely cut flower, adding a delicate, airy touch to bouquets. This hardy perennial grows 15 – 20” high and 18 – 20” wide, thrives in full sun, and prefers well-drained soil with moderate water.

This season we are featuring two different varieties, ‘Vivid Violet’, which has bright pink blooms and ‘Giga Blue’ with large periwinkle blue flowers. Pair with warm-toned companions like coreopsis or gaillardia for a vibrant display, or combine it with soft pastels for a more romantic look. Reliable, colorful, and pollinator-friendly, Scabiosa delivers season-long performance with minimal effort.

We invite you to come wander through the perennial courtyard at Squak Mt. soon.
