Blazing carmine red new leaves are only one of several dazzling colors displayed on this newly discovered variety of Full Moon Maple. (Acer shirasawanum ‘Moonrise’)
‘Moonrise’ leaves will turn gold in summer, and will not burn even in sunny locations in our area. Specimens located in shadier spots sport lime green foliage in summer.
Autumn brings tones of red, lime and gold. Stunning! ‘Moonrise’ grows vigorously considering it is a Japanese maple. It’s upright, rounded form eventually reaches 15 to 18’ tall.
