New! Chameleon

Ornamental grasses take center stage in the late summer garden as they command attention with stately forms, airy flower heads, slender texture and gentle movements. The grasses that
are most eye-catching now are deciduous forms. Amongst them is little bluestem (Schizachyrium), a prairie grass that is native to portions of Eastern Washington.

A brand new bluestem variety ‘Chameleon’ has arrived, with white and green variegated leaves adding interest to the spring and summer garden. As this compact, dense grass matures at about 40” tall and 20” wide, the leaves change to vivid tones of pink and purple. The flower heads colored burgundy red dance above the foliage. This is a tough, easy to grow grass that loves sun and is drought tolerant. Simply provide well drained soil and there is a little more required.
