New! Catching Fire

Dahlias are a gift to all of us during the hottest days of summer. From dinner plate sized blooms to smaller little puff balls, there are a myriad of forms to enjoy. Our featured summer bulb for 2024 is Dahlia ‘Catching Fire’. A decorative dahlia, it boasts creamy white flowers that seep to brilliant red towards the center of the flower.

A fantastic addition to any garden border or cutting garden, they will grow to 4’ tall and attract many pollinators. Plant in full sun (6 hours minimum) and provide well-draining soil.

Dahlias tubers can be planted outdoors in late April. In the fall dig them up, let them dry out a bit, then nestle them in sawdust in your garage. (Typically, our wet winters cause dahlia tubers to rot if they remain in the garden.)
