Did you know dahlias are native to Mexico? It makes perfect sense. Brightly colored, huge flower blooms are reminiscent of a market in any given town or city in Mexico. Busy, loud, colorful, and hot. At Squak Mt we love bright, happy color; especially in the summer time when sunny days seem to make everything appear to be in Technicolor. This spring make it a goal to plant summer blooming bulbs, namely dahlias, in your garden. This year we are particularly excited about the newly introduced, ‘Rebecca’s World’ dahlia.
Be prepared to be astonished when ‘Rebecca’ begins to bloom. Lovely 5” flowers will unfurl in a trio of colors, ranging from white, burgundy to violet-blue. The surprise will be discovering which color each flower will be. Every bloom will be a different color of the trio. A prolific bloomer from July to the first frost, ‘Rebecca’ will grow to be 36” tall. Dahlias’ big blooms and sturdy stems beg to be cut for fresh flower arrangements and this lovely lady is no exception. Combined with other dahlias you have in your yard, ‘Rebecca’ and friends would make a stunning centerpiece bouquet for an outdoor summer party. Dahlia’s LOVE the full on heat of the season, so bring on the SUN!
Swing by Squak Mt this season and pick up ‘Rebecca’s World’ tubers and peruse our selection of other dahlias and summer bulbs.
