Digiplexis ‘Illumination Flame’

Bring bright, fiery color to your garden this spring and summer. Digiplexis ‘Illumination Flame’ is a new introduction to the foxglove family. This perennial is a cross of Digitalis purpurea (foxglove) and Isoplexis canariensis (Canary Island foxglove). Digiplexis features the beautiful, verdant textured foliage of digitalis with the stunning bright red-orange flowers of isoplexis.  Growing to 3’, the sturdy stems have tightly packed blooms in bright reddish and orange with a touch of yellow in the throat.

Blossoms on this variety are sterile, allowing ‘Flame’ to re-bloom long into the summer. Plant them in a full sun to part shade location, in moist well drained soil. Digiplexis will bring unique, beautiful blooms to beds, borders or pots.  It also makes a stunning cut flower as well. Hardy to about 10 degrees, we consider this a tender perennial.  Come wander the perennial courtyard at Squak Mt. today to discover many hot, new varieties for summer.
