Note:  All positions are demanding physically.  You are on your feet all day long and light to moderate lifting is required in all positions.  We often work outdoors, even if the weather is not hospitable!

 

Hiring for 2018:

Retail Team member / Garden Shed associate

Approximately 75% of your hours will be in the Garden Shed (Squak Mt.’s Gift / Décor / Container / Houseplant department).  The remaining time will be in our retail nursery department (emphasis on live goods).

At least a basic knowledge of plants and gardening is required.   Love of interior plants a must!

Primary Garden shed tasks – Sales, customer assistance, receiving and merchandising new inventory, plant care, maintaining store inventory and appearances.

Primary Nursery tasks – Sales, customer assistance, plant maintenance.

Start date: January

End dates:  Early July.  This job may become a year round position.

Days per week – 4 to 5.  Saturdays required.  (Sundays off, as we are closed).  Approximately 30 to 40 hours per week.

 

Greenhouse – Production Team

Production environment.  Quickly and accurately complete tasks to assist in growing crops in the greenhouses.

Prior experience is not required.

Includes watering, transplanting, filling pots with soil, taking cuttings, tagging plants and other greenhouse tasks.

Start dates: February to mid March

End dates: Late May to early July

Schedules may be part time (minimum of 15 hours) or full time.  Typically greenhouse team members work on weekdays.

 

Retail Team

Assisting our customers.

Knowledge of landscape plants and their care, as well as landscape design principles is preferred.

Includes sales, cash register transactions, telephone assistance, watering, plant care, building displays, moving plants, and more.

Start dates:  February to mid March

End dates: June to July

Schedules may be part time (minimum of 15 hours) or full time.  All retail team members must be available to work on Saturdays.

 

Customer Care and Nursery Support

Assists all departments.

Includes customer carry outs, watering, moving plants, filling pots with soil and more.

Moderate to heavy lifting is involved.

Part or full time schedules.

Start dates:  January to February

End dates: June to July
