Our Natural Setting
Nestled in the valley between the forested slopes of Squak Mountain and Cougar Mountain in the Issaquah Alps, our nursery is located in an idyllic natural setting that lets you forget the urban world just minutes away.
Tibbetts Creek, hidden by tall trees and native shrubs along its banks, chatters its way past the tree nursery and under our one lane bridge. In the winter, its waters swell and race to nearby Lake Sammamish.
The entrance drive lined with maple trees passes a field where wildlife sightings of both the fur and feather type are common. Over the years our neighbors have included deer, hawks, herons, quail, bear, coyote, field rabbits, bobcats, pileated woodpeckers…
Built in a valley and on the side of the hill, Squak Mountain Nursery is not flat and sterile. Topography makes visiting Squak Mountain Nursery like a walk in the park. Paths meander through our trees, shrubs and perennials, echoing the elegance and natural beauty that surrounds our nursery. The terrace is a changing landscape of plants arranged in a manner that suggests a series of gardens. The gazebo welcomes you to sit a while, offering views of the ponds and waterfalls, the terrace and the tree nursery.
You will be delighted to discover that our nursery is quiet and peaceful, although the interstate is only one mile removed. Everywhere you look up you will find you are surrounded by hills and trees. Visit us to enjoy our beautiful natural setting. It’s another world.
